At approximately 1:00 pm on Tuesday, 31 May 2016, Israeli gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of Al Waha western Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza city. Israeli gunboats chased several fishing boats in order to arrest fishermen on board and they surrounded one boat but it managed to escape and leave the area. As a result, fishermen left the area and abandoned their work. No casualties or injuries were reported.
