On Tuesday, 31 May 2016, the public prosecution in Gaza executed M. E. by hanging. Court of First Instance of Khan Younis had sentenced M.E. to death after being charged of killing with premeditation in violation of Articles 214, 215, and 216 of the Penal Code of 1936. He had killed Abdel Qader Ibrahim Barhoum on 20 August 2011 by hitting his head by a hammer and then stole his money.
Medical sources at Al Najjar Hospital announced the arrival of the body of Abdel Qader Barhoum, 52, a money dealer, after being hit by a hammer on the head. The body was found near Al Salah Charity Society in Rafah and was admitted to the hospital by an ambulance.
