At approximately 6:00 am on Thursday, 5 May 2016, six Israeli tanks and bulldozers moved about 100 meters from the separation fence into Palestinian land to the south of Soufa crossing, northeast of Al Shouka village in Rafah. The bulldozers set up sand barriers to cover the excavations carried out by the Israeli military in the area. At the time of writing, Israeli forces were still present in the area.
