Short Link:
At approximately 5:30 PM on Monday, 11 April 2016, ‘Amir Diab Khamis Al Trabeen, 14, sustained a bullet wound in his right hand. According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, ‘Amir was shepherding a herd of sheep with his sister Hiba, 20, and his cousin Ward Al Bahabsa, 18, southeast of the landfill, about 800 meters from his house in the Gaza Valley village (Johr Al Deek). The shepherds were about 300 meters from the separation fence, when two Israeli soldiers stepped out of a military jeep and opened fire towards a number of shepherds in the area. As a result, ‘Amir sustained a bullet wound in his right hand; his sister and cousin helped him until they reached his house. His father called the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) who transported ‘Amir to Al Aqsa Hospital. He received treatment and stayed in the hospital for two hours. His father told Al Mezan that his son had dropped out of school due to his family’s harsh economic situation, and is helping by shepherding the 50 sheep that his family owns.
