Four-year-old Lujain from Khan Younis was very enthusiastic about going to kindergarten, she had told her cousin. “When she would visit me, she used to knock at the door, and when I opened the door, she would give me a hug,” her grandmother said. “Her features were very beautiful; she had colorful eyes and small lips. She was beloved. Her speaking was very sweet. She used to tell her grandfather ‘You have a heart of gold’,” her grandmother says.
On 1 August 2014, the family house was struck by a missile from an Israeli drone. The faily started to evacuate. Lujain and her siblings were targeted by another missile while they were running away from the house. They died immediately.
