14-year-old Amjad Salem Shaat from Khan Younis was a bright and ambitious boy who hoped to go to university to continue his studies. “In his spare time, he enjoyed flying kites and raising canaries,” said his uncle. He also liked playing around with mobile phone apps. Amjad and his family used to spend time at a plot of land they owned away from the noise and chaos of the city. They decided to go there one day during the Israeli military bombardent and were sitting in the shade of tree when they were targeted by Israeli forces. Two people were killed instantly and everyone else ran. A few seconds later another missile targeted the group killing Amjad and one of his relatives.
