3-year-old Ameen Thaer Emran El Astal from Khan Younis was described by his family as being a normal little boy. He liked playing in the sand and helping his father with the gardening and raising of their sheep in the backyard. “Before he was killed, his family’s biggest worry for him was how to ensure he received a decent education given the dire economic situation in the Gaza Strip,” said his uncle.
At approximately 2:00 am on 24 July 2014 the family’s house was bombarded with Israeli missiles. Ameen was killed, along with his mother, who was 24, and his sister Nada, who was 5.
