13-year-old Oday from Deir Al Balah in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a serious child. He helped his mother a lot around the house. He liked to play around with computers and mobile phones. He loved playing football and was a dedicated fan of FC Barcelona. “His ambition was to have a motorcycle,” said his grandfather Msalam who is 73.
At 6:30 am on 29 July 2014, in a violation to the agreed truce our neighbor's house was targeted with missiles from Israeli warplanes, without prior warning. Oday sustained shrapnel wounds to the neck. He bled heavily until he died.
