Name: Mohamed Emad Haider Al-Abeet
Date of birth: 14 September 1998
Date of Death: 20 August 2014
Fifteen-year-old Mohamed from the area of Al-Mahattah in Deir Al Balah in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a calm and shy child unlike his twin brother Ahmed. He always helped his mother in the housekeeping. He liked raising animals and particularly birds. He loved playing football. “His ambition was to be a mechanic, because he was good at repairing appliances,” his mother said.
At noon on 20 August 2014, when Mohamed and a group of his relatives were on their way to an UNRWA school shelter in Salah El-Din Street, an Israeli drone missile targeted them without warning. Mohamed and his cousin Saher, 11, were immediately killed and many others were seriously injured. “I still miss him because we shared so many things,” said his twin brother Ahmed.
