Aseel from Block 5 in Al Nusairat in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a very active girl with a strong personality. She was energetic and she was very polite. She was very close to her father. Aseel was a fantastic student at school. Her ambition was to be a teacher. “When I underwent a surgery for my eyes, she stayed by my side all the time,” her father said.
At 7:30 pm on 1 August 2014, many related families gathered inside the house. A missile from an Israeli warplane hit the house. The house was completely destroyed. Sixteen people were killed including Aseel. She was fifteen years old. Many others were injured.
