At approximately 11:15 am on Thursday, 5 June 2014, the police attacked journalist Yousif Basheer Mohammed Hammad, 25, who works as a correspondent for Watan radio.
He was interviewing the PA’s employees in front of the bank of Palestine, who were waiting for the bank to be opened.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Yousif stated that the police officers assaulted him and the employees shortly after the beginning of the live interview.
One of the police officers hit him with a cudgel in his right leg, and another one hit him in his left hand, and a third one in his head.
He lost his conscious and people there sprinkled water at his face.
when he woke up, he found himself surrounded by police officers who took him to their office in Jabaliya.
He was detained for an hour and released.
The police ordered him to stay away from internal affairs.
He went to Kamal Odwan hospital on Saturday 7 June 2014 because he felt pain in his leg.
Doctors referred him to Shifa hospital as he suffers from fracture in the right leg and cerebral.
