IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Fishermen and Injures One in Northern Gaza

At approximately 2:30 pm on Monday 26 May 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a group of fishing lovers who were in Beit Lahiya beach near the borders.
As a result, Imad Shokri Salim, 51, resident of Beit Lahiya in North Gaza district, sustained two bullets wounds in his right leg and in the right side of the back.
Medical sources at Kamal Odwan hospital described his injury as critical.
He is staying in the hospital in the intensive care unit.
According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, the fisherman was fishing using his hook when he was being shot by Israeli forces that were stationed in the observation towers.
The shooting forced fishermen to leave the area fearing for their lives.
