Short Link:
At approximately 4:00 pm on Friday 23 May 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces opened fire at a group of scrap and rubble collectors who were near the borders west of Erez Crossing with no injuries reported.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, shooting led scrap and rubble collectors to leave the area fearing for their life.
It’s worth mentioning that rubble and scrap collectors move closer to the separation fence in order to collect greater amount of rubble in order to be recycled and sold again.
This is the main source of income for rubble collectors due to severe economic situation.
