At approximately 4:00 pm on Friday 24 January 2014, Israeli gunboats opened fire and water hoses at two Palestinian boats while they were in Gaza sea. The boats were two and a half nautical miles away from the coast, west of Al Waha area in North Gaza district. As a result, 6 fishing nets pieces and 40 lamps were damaged. According to Al Mezan’s field investigation, while the Israeli gunboats were shooting at the Palestinian fishermen, the Israeli boat caught on fire .
