At approximately 3:00 pm on Tuesday 27 August 2013, Mohammed Abdel Kareem At-Tarshawi, 17, was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, At-Tarshawi was injured while he was in an agricultural field about 60 meters away from his home which is located northeast of An-Nusirat refugee camp.
His father stated to Al Mezan that Mohammed was playing with a device that he had found in the field.
The object was exploded and his fingers were amputated and he sustained shrapnel wounds in the body.
The police general investigation department took parts of the device but it did not recognize it.
