A family dispute between a husband and his wife and children developed in the western area in Khan Younis, at around 7:25 pm Tuesday evening on July 16, 2013.
Shortly after the dispute broke out, Fareed Mansor Abu Shabab, 55, used a knife to stab his son Mohammad, 24, in the right shoulder.
When his wife, Najah Soliman Abu Shabab, 55, intervened, he stabbed her in the chest, then proceeded to attack his son, Iyeed, 23, stabbing him in his right shoulder.
Fareed fled, while the injured were rushed to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
Najah’s condition was described as critical, and she was therefore admitted into the intensive care unit.
Her death was announced around midnight.
Iyeed’s injuries were described as moderate and Mohammed’s were described as light.
According to Khan Younis police sources, the police went to the scene and opened an investigation into the incident.
They arrested the husband, who was the accused, at two o’clock in the morning; shortly after they began to hear his testimony around the circumstances of the incident.
