On Sunday 5th May 2013, at approximately 4:00 pm, Beit Lahyia police summoned chief human resources officer, Fayez Ali Hussein al Omari, 45.
Inal Omari’s affidavit, he stated that he was investigated regarding his association’s hosting of a six member Spanish delegation that included one woman.
The delegation was a solidarity visit to some of the community’s known labor figures in Gaza.
Al Omari was forced to sign a pledge which would require him to obligate foreigners to conduct themselves within the local law, the Islamic, cultural contexts and the Palestinian traditions.
He added, that he left the police station at 5:00, citing that this was the first time he was investigated on these grounds, and he receives in many delegations on regular basis.
He ensured that the Spanish delegation was able to visit important figures in the local Gaza government, at which points they were not intercepted by internal security services.
