On Friday, 22 March 2013, at approximately 8:30 am, security officers at Erez Crossing banned Mrs.
Amal Hamad, a member of Fatah Central Committee, from travel to Ramallah in the West Bank.
Hamad intended to participate in a meeting for Fatah Central Committee members held in Ramallah.
In her affidavit, Hamad stated that, she arrived at Erez Crossing along with three other Fatah senior officials in the Gaza Strip: Zakaryia Al Agha, Hisham Abedel Razeq, and Faisal Abu Shahla.
The four members were scheduled to meet with PA president Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday, 23 March 2013.
According to Hamad, security officers at the crossing allowed the three Fatah officials to pass through but asked her to wait, and at approximately 10:00 am on the same day, she was refused entry due to “political reasons”.
Hamad has been banned from travel several times before, both at the Rafah and Erez Crossings while no reasons have been provided.
