On Thursday, 21 March 2013, at approximately 4:30 pm, several individuals broke into the Reception and Emergency section at al Shifa’a Hospital, west of Gaza.
Assailants smashed the counter, pressure gauges, and verbally abused nurses and doctors at the hospital.
According to affidavits obtained from inside the hospital, the assailants accused the doctors and nurses of negligence toward their relative who was being treated at the hospital.
The doctors stated that, the patient was primarily examined, and according to them they had to follow another urgent medical case which caused the delay.
The police arrested the assailants while some of the doctors and nurses protested against such acts demanding for protection while they are on duty.
