Short Link:
This position paper describes the conditions of incarceration in which Palestinian political prisoners and detainees classified as “security prisoners” are held in Israel.
It includes updated data and surveys the latest developments in both policy and legislation relating to the conditions of imprisonment of these prisoners in Israeli detention and prison facilities.
It also examines their legal status under international human rights law, and in particular, those conventions which prohibit torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment and punishment.
