At approximately 1:40 pm on Thursday 31 May 2012, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) handed over 12 bodies of Palestinians killed in actions connected to the conflict with Israel to representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Israel had been holding the remains in the “Cemetery of Numbers” in Al Aghwar.
Al Mezan has identified the twelve deceased as:
· Suhaib Abdel Raman Abdel Raheem Temraz, who was killed on 1 April 1997;
· Rebhi Hamed Mohammed Yasen Al Kahlout, killed on 11 February 1995;
· Fadi Ahmed Hasan Al ‘Amoudi, killed on 17 April 2004;
· Reem Saleh Mustafa Ar-Riashi, killed on 14 January 2004;
· Imad Mahmoud Suliman Abu Amouna, killed on 9 April 1995;
· Iyad Mahmoud Mohammed At-Tahrawi, killed on 12 April 2004;
· Nael Mohammed Omar, killed on 18 April 2004;
· Khalid Mohammed Mahmoud Al Khateeb, killed on 4 September 1995;
· Mu’awiya Ahmed Abu Rouqa, killed on 5 June 1995;
· Ramez Abdel Qader Mohammed Obeid, killed on 4 March 1996;
· Mohammed Abdel Haleem Abu Hashem, killed on 11 February 1995; and
· Ahmed Salman Meghnem Az-Zagharna, killed on 18 May 1976.
Az-Zagharna was from Hebron; transfer of his remains to Gaza amounts to deportation of the body.
The remains of the deceased were transferred to Ash-Shifa Hospital and then to Al Omari mosque for prayers.
Afterwards the families received the remains of their sons and buried them in accordance with Islamic practice.
