At approximately 9:45 pm on Tuesday 3 April 2012, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched two artillery shells at a Palestinian minor who had approached the separation fence east of the Islamic Martyrs cemetery, east of Jabaliya in North Gaza district.
Hashem Mesbah Sa’ad, 17, was killed as a result.
According to medical sources at Kamal Odwan Hospital, the boy sustained multiple shrapnel wounds in different parts of the body.
He lay wounded for long hours after being hit, which led to his death.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, at approximately 12:15 pm on Wednesday 4 April 2012, medical teams retrieved the boy’s body about 300 meters away from the eastern separation fence.
The International Committee of the Red Cross coordinated with the IOF to allow the Palestinian ambulance to collect the body.
