25 December 2011
Short Link:
At approximately 6:00 pm on Sunday 25 December 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested two young Palestinian men who had snuck through the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel in the area east of Jabaliya.
The IOF opened sporadic fire before arresting them.
At approximately 3:00 pm on the same day, the IOF released them at Erez crossing.
Al Mezan has identified them as:
· Wesam Akram E’liyan Al Majdlawi, 18; and
· Ibrahim Kamal Al Hajeen, 18.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Al Majdlawi stated that he and his friend had crossed the separation fence in order to find jobs in Israel.
A few meters away from the fence the IOF surrounded them, firing several flares into the sky.
The IOF searched the area and found them hiding in the grass.
The IOF ordered them to take off their clothes, blindfolded them, and cuffed their hands, then took them to a military site.
On their way to the site they were beaten.
The IOF then interrogated them about their reasons for being in the area.
The next day they were released at Erez crossing.
