IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Man then Treats Him North of Beit Hanoun

At approximately 4:20 pm on Saturday 31 December 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a Palestinian man as he approached the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel north of Beit Hanoun, in North Gaza district.
  As a result, Ismail Mohammed Musa Abu Down, 32, was injured.
  The IOF then detained him and provided him with first aid.
  At approximately 6:20 pm on the same day, after coordination between the Palestinian Health Coordination Office and the Israeli side, Abu Down was delivered to Palestinian care.
  According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, Abu Down suffers from a mental disorder.
  He was near the separation fence when the IOF opened fire on him, and sustained several bullet wounds in his right thigh.
  The IOF then ordered him to crawl towards the fence.
  When he approached the fence, the IOF ordered him to take off his clothes.
  An IOF infantry team then took him to the Israeli side.
  They provided him with first aid and released him.
  Afterwards he was admitted to Kamal Odwan Hospital, where his injuries were described as moderate.
