At approximately 12:30 pm on Thursday 29 December 2011, an Israeli military vessel stopped a small Palestinian fishing boat about three nautical miles opposite Khan Younis in the waters of the southern Gaza Strip.
The IOF detained the three fishermen on board the boat.
Al Mezan has identified them as follows:
· Nabil Ahmed Al Hennawi, 34;
· His brother Mahmoud Ahmed Al Hennawi, 43; and
· Munzir Mussa Suhweil, 38.
The IOF took the men into Israeli territory and interrogated them.
At approximately 12:30 am on Friday 30 December 2011, the IOF released two of the fishermen at the Erez crossing.
Munzir Suhweil remained in detention as this news was being published at 1:50 pm on 2 January 2011.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, one of the fishermen stated that the IOF had blindfolded and handcuffed them before they were carried into Israel and subjected to interrogation.
The affiant added that he and one of his companions were later released at Erez crossing.
