In an incident of internal violence and use of weapons in the Gaza Strip, a husband and his wife were recently killed.
This incident raises the number of people killed in internal incidents during 2011 to 100 persons, 13 of whom were children and four women.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, at approximately 10:40 am on Monday 12 December 2011, the bodies of Mustafa Abdel Khaleq Al Hwehi, 62, and his wife Halema Husni Al Hwehi, 60, were admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah in Middle Gaza district.
According to medical sources, both spouses were killed by bullets to the head.
They were referred to Shifa Hospital for forensic examination.
The police opened an investigation into the incident.
The two lived in Al Nureij refugee camp.
Their son Samer, 22, lived with them, and disappeared directly after the incident.
