At approximately 09:30 on Wednesday 30 November 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested patient Ahmed Khamees ‘Akeela, 25, while he was at Erez crossing.
The Israeli intelligence informed the Health Coordination Office in Gaza that it wanted to interview ‘Akeela at Erez crossing.
When ‘Akeela went to Erez crossing at the appointed time to be interviewed by the Israeli intelligence to be allowed to travel via Erez crossing to receive medical treatment, he was arrested.
In the evening hours on the same day, the IOF informed ‘Akeela’s relatives that he had been detained.
