At approximately 5:30 am on Saturday 8 October 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened sporadic fire on Palestinian farmers while they were in their fields near the “access-restricted area” (also called the “security buffer zone”) in the Hamdona and Abu Samra family areas, in the north of Beit Lahiya, North Gaza district.
No casualties or injuries were reported but the farmers abandoned their fields immediately.
