At around midnight on Sunday 4 September 2011, a blue Subaru car exploded while it was parked in the Heker Al Jamea’ neighborhood, in the south of Deir Al Balah. As a result of the explosion, the car was destroyed and neighbors were panicked. The car was owned by Ibrahim Abdel ‘Aziz Bashir, 41. Several adjacent windowpanes and doors were damaged. The outside wall of the house of Abdel ‘Aziz Basher, 67, as well as three other adjacent houses were partially damaged. The police arrived at the scene and examined the site, taking fragments of the remaining shrapnel.
