At approximately 7:30am on Sunday 26 June 2011, Israeli naval vessels patrolling the Gaza sea opened sporadic fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of the As-Sudaniya area northwest of Beit Lahiya in North Gaza district.
The firing, which lasted for two hours, scared the fishermen on the boats and they sailed to land immediately.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
