At approximately 5:40pm on Friday 10 June 2011, medical sources at Nasser Hospital announced the death of Ismail Adnan Abu Taha, 23, after sustaining a bullet in the arm and chest.
According to AL Mezan's available information, t two men dressed in civilian clothes and riding a motorcycle stopped Abu Taha while he was riding a car at the crossroad of the Red Cross street and the market street in Sheikh Nasser in Khan Yunis.
One of the men said that they were from the police investigation unit and they beat Abu Taha.
Abu Taha's father was by coincident at the place of the attack.
He tried to help his son and to know the reason behind the assault.
At that point, one of the two men opened fire from a close distance at Abu Taha and fled the scene of the incident.
As a result, Abu Taha was injured.
He was admitted to Naser Hospital.
He was pronounced dead after 15 minutes of his arrival to the hospital.
According to police sources, a quarrel started between Abu Taha and the men.
The situation developed and small arms were used.
