An Explosion in Rafah Injures Three Children

At approximately 4pm on Tuesday 3 May 2011, three children were injured when an unknown device exploded.
The children were playing in the As-Sawafi area near the housing area, west of Tal As-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah, when the explosion took place.
Al Mezan identified the names of the children as follows: Mohammed Ahmed Khader, 14, his left thumb was amputated; NajiSalahKhader, 14, sustained shrapnel in different parts of his body, and Mohammed Sami Al Akhras, 14, sustained shrapnel in different parts of his body.
The children were admitted to Abu Yousif An-Najjar Hospital for medical treatment.
