At approximately 9:15am on Tuesday 5 April 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) fired two artillery shells at a young Palestinian man who was in the Burat Abu Samra area, north of Beit Lahyia, in North Gaza district.
Then the IOF opened sporadic fire at the man.
At approximately 9:30am on the same day, an ambulance from the Red Crescent Society arrived at the area to collect the dead body of the man.
The IOF did not allow the ambulance to reach the dead body despite previous coordination arrangements.
At approximately 11:20am on the same day, the IOF allowed the ambulance to enter the area.
The medical team found the dead body of Mohammed Ziyad Khamis Shalha, 22, 100 meters away from the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
According to medical sources, Shalha sustained bullets in the nick, chest, left thigh, and the legs.
