At approximately 7pm on Monday 14 March 2011, a group of young people from the '5 June', activists from the Youth Movements to End the Palestinian Internal Split, organized a mass demonstration in the town of Beit Hanoun.
Hundreds of people participated in the demonstration.
They held banners calling for the end of the Palestinian internal split.
A large number of the participants went to the Unknown Soldier square in Gaza and slept there awaiting the main demonstration that would be held the following day.
They held banners that read 'We went to the streets to end the Palestinian Internal Split on 15 March'.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, dozens of activists from Beit Lahyia, Jabalia town and Jabalia refugee camp went to the Square in the afternoon and set up tents to sleep in.
