11:20am on Tuesday 2 November 2010, Husam Hafez Al Khaldi, 35, was admitted to Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah town.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, Al Kahldi was collecting old plastic materials from the solid waste dump northeast of Wadi Gaza village when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired at him.
Medical sources described his injury as moderate.
The IOF continues its attacks on Palestinian civilians near the border fence.
These attacks come in the context of IOF’s accelerated attempts to enforce the security buffer zone inside the Gaza Strip.
A week before this attack, the IOF opened fire on Palestinians who were collecting olives from their orchards east of Wadi As-Salqa village in Middle Gaza district.
