1am on Sunday 21 March 2010, unknown persons set fire to the Al Maghazi municipality park.
One of the kiosks which is rented by Fathi Abdel Aziz Mohammed Abu Ar-Rous, 50, was burnt as well as some of the surrounding trees.
Civil defense team arrived and put out the fire.
According to affidavit given by Abu Ar-Rous to Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights, he rented the kiosk from the Al Maghazi municipality and he served hot and cold drinks and hookah.
The kiosk is located near the entrance to the park.
He added that at app.
1:30am on Sunday 21 March 2010, he received a phone call and was informed that his kiosk was in flames.
When he arrived there, he found one of the sunshades, which was made of palm leaves and fiberglass, was burnt.
Moreover, inflammable liquids had been poured over the chairs and tables, but did not catch fire.
Police arrived to the scene of the incident and started investigations.
This park was opened in 2005 by the support of international institutions.
It's about four dounams and planted with trees.
Most of Al Maghazi refugee camp residents go there for luxury.
