At approximately 11:00am on Sunday 16 August 2009, clashes were resumed among members of the Doghmush clan after the killing of Rasheed Ashour Doghmush, 40.
Rasheed was killed at approximately 1:00am on the previous day.
The police immediately closed the As-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza city, and called Momtaz Doghmush to hand himself and his companions over to the police, but they refused.
Several mediators intervened to end this crisis.
At 9:00 Momtaz Doghmush handed himself over to the police, following intervention by the Islamic Jihad Movement.
The police questioned him for two hours and then released him.
No causalities were reported during the clashes.
