Khan Younis Labor Union suspended work for three hours at app. 11am on 14 April 2007 in all municipality departments and facilities, in a protest against the delay of their payments. Employees at local authorities called upon the Palestinian government for equal treatment to secure their salaries in line with governmental employees. They have also threatened to prolong the strike until paid and to protest further until their demands are met.
