At approximately 11:40 on the 13th of May 2007, unknown armed men fired a missile at the car of Bahaa Mousa Abu Jarad, 34, a leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs brigades, whilst on his way home in Al Manshiya Street in Beit Lahia.
Then the armed men opened fire intensively at Abu Jarad who later died of his severe injuries.
A few minutes later, Tawfia Mohammed Al Boudi, 33, resident of the same area was injured in crossfire by a live bullet to his neck.
Al Boudi has since died from his injuries.
No information is available regarding the identity of the perpetrators or the motivations behind the incident.
Clashes have erupted between Hamas and Fateh following this incident, which has resulted in the injury of Ata Mater Freij, 29, by a live bullet to his back, and another citizen who remains unidentified.
