On 11 June 2007, at app. 20:00, an armed man threw an explosive device at a young man from the Al Akras family near the Rafah Municipality's trade center in the centre of Rafah City. Three young men were injured as a result. They have been identified as: Shadi Al Akhras, 20, shrapnel wounds to his legs, Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Taha, 19, shrapnel wounds to his right leg, Husam Nasim An Najjar, 21, shrapnel wounds to his right leg.
