On 11/12/2007, medical sources in Al Shifaa hospital announced the death of Abd El Hamid Al Afifi, 60, who suffered from cancer tumor in prostate. Al Afifi's health badly deteriorated as he did not receive medicinal dosages since October 2007, due to shortages of medicines in the hospitals of the Gaza Strip. Al Afifi was a resident of the An Nusairat Refugee camp.
