On Saturday, 26 July 2008, at approximately 3:00 pm, masked gunmen kidnapped 28-year-old Emad Ahmed Hashem Sheikh Khalil, while he was walking in a street leading to his house, near Al Twam crossroads, in northern Gaza.
The kidnappers led him to an unknown place.
Later on, Sheikh Khalil arrived to kamal Odwan hospital injured in his two legs and in the pelvis, and then he was transferred to Ashifa hospital in Gaza.
In the testimony of his brother, Akel Sheikh Khalil:
"Masked gunmen, in two black Isuzu and Magnum vehicles, kidnapped my brother Emad, while he was walking in a street leading to the family house.
They led him to an open area east to Annawras touristic resort and shot him.
One of the aggressors called me from my brother's mobile phone to inform me that my brother is injured, and he refused to identify himself.
After our relatives and friends arrived to that place, they found Emad bleeding.
They transported him to Kamal Odwan hospital, then to Ashifa hospital, from where he was transferred to Israeli hospitals, where medical sources described his injury as serious".
