Internal Security Arrests Three Journalists

The Ministry of Interior's Internal Security arrested three journalists of Deir el-Balah city.
Two of them are members of the Deir el-Balah-based Palestinian Commission for Culture and Media, which was closed before for administrative reasons.
The third works for the al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper.

A police force in two jeeps and another white car arrived to the house of Akram Khalid Odeh el-Louh, 25, in Hikr el-Jami, neighborhood in Deir el-Balah.
According to his brother, Amjad, 21, at around 1:30am on Sunday, 12 October 2008, the force searched the house and took over a PC, a photocopier and a few papers before they left with his brother.
Akram works for the media and for the website of the Ministry of Prisoners, Affairs.

A force of the Internal Security arrested Yousif Ali Kamil Fayyad, 28.
According to the testimony of his brother, Usama, at around 1:30am on Sunday 12 October 2008, a force arrived in jeeps to the house, located in al-Birka neighborhood to the south of Deir el-Balah.
They asked about his brother, Yousif, and ordered him to bring him to them.
When he went out to them, they put him in a jeep.
A number of them searched the house and took over two PCs; one of them is Yousif,s, before they left.
He said that his brother, Yousif, works for al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper.

A force of the Internal Security arrested Hani Ahmad Hussein Ismael, 30.
According to the testimony of his brother, Shadi, 31, a force arrived to the house, located in Deir el-Balah, and searched Hani's room.
They took over a PC before they left.
Hani is a journalist and works for the Palestinian Commission for Culture and Media.

Until this news was released, no details on the background of the arrest were announced to the public.
