Short Link:
The Dismissed Government's Internal Security force summoned 5 member students of the Shabiba (Fateh Youth) administration board in al-Aqsa University – Khan Younis, on Tuesday 14 October 2008 at around 10:00am.
Ra'fat Ahmad Ganan, 23, Mamdouh Khalil al-Bitar, 21, Ahmad Shukri Ahmad, 23, Abdallah Mahmoud Abu Hadrous, 21, and Ahmad Anwar al-Ghalban, 20, were detained and beaten and received inhuman, cruel treatment for a few hours at the Internal Security headquarters to the West of Khan Younis city.
According to one of the arrested students, the reason behind the arrest and interrogation was based on a fight and disagreements that erupted at the University nearly one week before the date of the arrest.
The fight broke out after members of the Islamic Bloc tore apart posters belonging to the Shabiba (Fateh Youth), which displayed phrases welcoming students to the new semester.
