On Tuesday, 11 November 2008, at around 3:45am, unidentified persons detonated an explosive device that was planted under the passenger seat of a Peugeot pick-up, owned by Kamil al-Sarsak, 65.
The pick-up truck was parking in front of his house in al-Shaboura in Rafah.
Mr.
al-Sarsak works in vegetable and fruit industry and uses his pick-up to transport vegetables and fruits.
The explosive device went off while he was opening his house main gate.
Mr.
al-Sarsak noticed there were a large number of Fateh yellow flags in the car.
Although the explosion caused great damage to his vehicle, the flags were not burnt.
The explosion also caused great material damage to windows and asbestos of the neighboring houses.
