Yesterday, 20 January 2009, Al Mezan Center for Human Right's director, Mr.
Issam Younis, and a group of Palestinian civil society leaders met the United Nations Secretary General, Mr.
Ban Ki Moon.
Mr.
Younis briefed the SG on the situation in the Gaza strip in the aftermath of the Israeli war on the Strip.
He stressed the need for ensuring accountability of all those responsible for perpetrating grave breaches of international humanitarian law in the course of the conflict, and the need to aid the devastated population of the Gaza Strip.
Mr.
Moon expressed his shock with what he saw in Gaza and called for investigation into all the attacks against civilians.
