Face-the-Public on "The urgent needs in Al Mawasi area.
" This meeting took place on 4th October 2005 in Al Mawasi area of Khan Younis; soon after the withdrawal of IOF from the area.
It focused on problems of the area's inhabitants relating to ESC rights, most importantly to the lack of schools, medical services and cultural centers.
It also lacks other kinds of organization and services, such as local councils and police.
Participants voiced their concern about the insecurity they feel, especially following frequent acts of crime in their area.
The Khan Younis Governorate and police promised to coordinate efforts to provide the area with proper policing service.
They would also collaborate with the Municipality to form and support local councils for the area to ensure best delivery of municipal service.
