Since Friday, 29th, Sept.
2000.
the Israelis have been committing massacres against the Palestinian civilians.
It became evident that they are determined to cause the highest possible number of casualties among the Palestinians.
To do so, they used every possible means either to directly kill, or to prevent or delay medical help to, Palestinians.
The Israelis attitude towards the Palestinian health personnel is a clear violation of the international laws and human rights regarding treating health personnel.
Since the start of the current Israeli wave of aggression against he Palestinians on 29/09/2000, the Israelis killed 3 health personnel, and injured several others while they were trying to provide care to the wounded.
In this context the following violations were observed: Blocking the way to Augusta Victoria and Makassid hospitals in Jerusalem, preventing access of injured people to medical care on 30/09/2000 Shooting at ambulances at Al-shuhada’ crossroad by Nitsdarim settlement south of Gaza city.
Shooting at medicalpersonnel, killing 3 and wounding several others.
The ones who were killed in 30/9/2000 were: Mohammed Tawfiq Qalaq; 23, Tul-Karm, A military medical staff.
Amjad Abd-Allah Daraghmeh; 22, Tubas, A military medical staff.
Live ammunition.
Bassam Fayez El-Bilbesi; 48, Gaza, Ambulance Driver.
Preventing the arrival of medical aid to the Palestinian Territories: In this context they prevented the landing of airplanes coming from several Arab countries (Lybia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar) in Gaza-airport by Rafah.
These airpalnes were carrying medical supplies and medicines aiming at overcoming their shortage in the Occupied Territories.
Preventing the wounded from receiving advanced medical care: The closure of the passages between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the rest of world, and preventing the airplanes from landing in Gaza airport hindered transferring tens of the wounded to receive advanced medical care in Arab countries.
In the same context, health aspect, the Israelis showed a planned determination to kill the Palestinians including children and by-passers.
There was a high percentage of (upper body parts’ injuries “43%”of cases), and a heavy use of life ammunition (82% of the injuries resulted from such use).
On the other hand, 72% of the casualties were among children.
In the light of the current situation, we perceive the situation as highly dangerous request the international community, United Nations, and non-governmental organizations allover the world to exert pressure upon Israel to put an end to its’ irresponsible acts against the Palestinians.
We, specifically, request the government of Israel to stop its’ measures against the medical personnel and to allow medical relief to reach its’ destination so that the wounded can receive adequate care.
