Al Mezan Center for Human Rights membership at OMCT accepted

Al Mezan Center for Human Rights gained the membership of the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT) network.
The Center received a letter from the OMCT after it had applied for the membership in the Network last year.
OMCT is the world’s largest Coalition of NGOs combating arbitrary detention, torture, summary and extrajudicial executions, forced disappearances and other forms of violence.
Its global network comprises nearly 300 local, national and regional organisations, which share the common goal of eradicating such practices and enabling the respect of human rights for all.
While Al Mezan welcomes the OMCT’s General Assembly’s decision to accept its membership, it asserts that it will continue its efforts to protect and promote human rights in Palestine, including combating torture and extra-judicial executions.
The Center’s membership adds to the its motivation to double the efforts in this domain, especially under the existing reality in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, where torture and assassinations have been systematically applied.
