The Israeli occupation forces intensified their attacks against civilian Palestinians and their property in the occupied Palestinian territories yesterday 8/10/2001.
Israeli tanks attacked Am al-Ajin area south of Dair al-Balah opposite to al-Matahin crossing in al-Qarara village.
They entered about 500 meters into the PA area, and occupied a four-floor house owned by Mr.
Ahmad Farhan Abu Ied.
The Israeli soldiers entered the house, searched it and questioned every one after detaining them inside, from 1:15 till 23:00.
It is worth noting that Mr.
Abu Ied gave shelter to three families whose houses were bulldozed by the Israeli army in the same area.
They also entered Ahmad Abdin’s house, searched it and stayed on its roof several hours.
In addition, they have arrested fourteen university students who were on their way home.
The arrest took place at Abu Huli road connecting Dair al-Balah to Khan Yunis at about 13:30.
It is not known where these students are now.
The Israeli destruction of land and houses in Bait Lahia and Bait Hanun, north of the Gaza Strip continues.
The occupation forces destroyed a four-floor house owned by Nathir Abdullah Mhana in as-Syafa area near Bait Lahia.
They have also bulldozed more cultivated lands in ad-Daur neighborhood in the same area.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli bulldozers have demolished two thousand dunams of cultivated lands in this area since 3/10/2001.
Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights considers dangerous the Israeli continuous commitment of war crimes agaist civilian Palestinians and their property.
The center believes that the international community’s silence in the face of these crimes motivates the Israeli government to proceed their escalations.
Therefore, the center demands that the international community provide urgent protection for civilian Palestinians in the occupied territories.
